This is Me
My first real camera, a Canon with a 35mm reel of film, was something I bought in my late 20s. I had to save up for the film because it wasn't cheap. I would take the film to be developed, wait a week, and cross my fingers that, incredibly unlikely as it was, there would be at least five good shots out of the 36. When the new DSLRs were released, I upgraded and used this camera for a while. In 2022, I decided it was time to properly learn how to snap images after I upgraded once again. During the pandemic, I also studied and learned macro photography.
It excites me to be able to make art using my imagination......
I consider taking pictures of people and the natural world to be a passion. However, the artistic process of abstract photography is truly where my passion rests. It excites me to be able to make art using my imagination, the skills I've learned, basic and arbitrary objects, and, of course, light. I've committed to carrying out my goal of learning more about photography in order to increase both my competence and self-assurance.
Taking photos excites me.....that joy is truly special!
During the Covid lock down, I discovered macro photography. It opened up a whole new world for me, sparking a love for abstract photography and other genres that continues to grow every day. When someone asked me what I enjoy most about photography, my answer came straight from the heart: “Taking photos excites me. When I’m behind the camera, I enter a completely different space — I zone out and lose track of time. And then, the anticipation of seeing the final image? That joy is truly special."
